Not only have we welcomed our new stallions Ardad and Jack Hobbs, but we’ve also enjoyed a visit from their former jockey Frankie Dettori, who is also familiar with two of our old favourites, having won an Ascot Gold Cup on Kayf Tara and the G1 Gran Premio del Jockey Club on Schiaparelli.
Jack Hobbs, winner of the G1 Irish Derby and G1 Dubai Sheema Classic, has been retired and will stand at Overbury Stud. The power-packed son of Halling, who remains in the ownership of Godolphin and the partners who raced him, also ran second to stablemate Golden Horn in both the Derby and the G2 Dante Stakes, and was twice third in the Champion Stakes. Hic Bibi scored impressively on her handicap debut to become the latest winner for her first-season sire Cityscape. Ardad, who memorably streaked more than three lengths clear in the Windsor Castle Stakes last year, has been retired.
